Appin Pegasus
At Appin Pegasus Early Education (formerly Leaping Learners Appin), our team of qualified and passionate educators deliver a daily educational program guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and shaped by the children’s ever-evolving interests, strengths and curiosities.
We deeply value the foundations built by Leaping Learners and are proud to continue fostering a strong culture of quality care and education within the Appin community.
Learning outcomes, developmental milestones and both group and individual observations are thoughtfully documented in a variety of meaningful ways. This ensures our educators take a holistic approach to each child’s growth, intentionally extending their skills and abilities through engaging, purposeful and play-based experiences.
We believe that strong partnerships with families are essential. Our educators will regularly connect with you to gather insights into your child’s interests, strengths and needs, as well as your aspirations for their learning journey. Open communication and collaboration are at the heart of what we do.
Our centre provides a safe, welcoming and home-like environment where children feel secure, valued and confident to explore. We nurture each child’s physical, social, emotional and cognitive development through a stimulating, inclusive and anti-bias program that promotes learning through play, inquiry and discovery. Every experience is thoughtfully planned to reflect the unique needs of each child.
The aim of Appin Pegasus Early Education is to provide high-quality early childhood education in a warm, happy and inspiring setting where children can truly thrive. We are committed to supporting every child to become confident, capable and resilient learners — well prepared for their transition to Kindergarten and beyond.
We believe childhood should be filled with curiosity, connection and joy, and that every child deserves an environment that empowers them to be resourceful, independent and proud of who they are becoming.
Our Early Education Centre opens at 6:30am to 6:00pm. The centre is open for 52 weeks of the year and closes for public holidays. We have a staff of trained educators who deliver a daily program based off the Early Years Learning Framework and the children’s everchanging interests.
As part of our commitment to families, we will also provide an After School Care Service with a trained after school care teacher for families of our pre-school children.

Supervisor profile
CaitlIn KozLowSki
I have been with Pegasus since 2008, completing my Certificate Three in Early Education and Care through a traineeship, moving on to complete my Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care and then the final stage- completing a Bachelor of Education (0-12year) at Macquarie university. Whilst being at Thirlmere Pegasus (since the very first day it opened) I worked alongside Melanie in the 3–5-year-old room, progressing to room leader before becoming 2IC.
Having been a part of the Pegasus family for the past 17 years, it has allowed my knowledge on the early childhood sector to grow and develop as well as my own personal philosophy. My philosophy is to ensure that each child is provided with an inclusive learning environment that offers them a sense of being, belonging and becoming yet offers challenges and an opportunity to explore through nature play and interest based. After being with Pegasus for several years, I have found that my personal philosophy has become very similar to the whole centre philosophy- allowing for a harmonious atmosphere.
I was thrilled to be offered the role of Nominated Supervisor at Pegasus on Victoria and have only continued to grow and develop as an educator and in my leadership role as well. I have a strong passion for providing quality care and education to children of all ages and supporting children and families through the starting foundation of their education journey. I feel honoured to have the opportunity to collaborate with children and their families as we create positive perspectives and memories of how joyous learning and discovery can be, as well as being a mentor and guiding the educators at the service. As a mother of 2 boys, I understand that having trust and strong partnerships with your child’s educators and the care setting is paramount in creating the initial base for the amazing opportunities that lay ahead of your children.
I look forward to providing a warm, safe environment for the children and always welcoming existing and new families to the service!
